Description
We are seeking a compassionate, patient-centered Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Primary Care team. The NP will provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients across the lifespan, including health assessments, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, preventive care, health education, and care coordination. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care while collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
Education & Certification
Master's Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Maryland
National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority as required by state law.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience
Minimum of one (1) year of primary care experience preferred.
Experience managing acute and chronic medical conditions in an outpatient setting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
Ability to independently manage patient care within scope of practice.
Knowledge of evidence-based primary care and preventive health guidelines.
Excellent communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and patient satisfaction.
Essential Functions
Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and physical examinations.
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.
Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with applicable regulations.
Provide preventive care, wellness visits, screenings, and immunizations.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and healthy lifestyle practices.
Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with specialists and community resources.
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
Participate in quality improvement and population health initiatives.
